BCA investigating inmate death at St. Louis County jail

The inmate, who hasn’t been named, was found unresponsive Tuesday morning.

DULUTH – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the death of an inmate at the St. Louis County jail.

First responders were called to the jail Tuesday morning when an inmate was found unresponsive in a cell. Lifesaving measures were performed but were unsuccessful, according to a news release from the county.

The cause of death is unknown, and the inmate has not yet been named by officials. The BCA is conducting the investigation.
